Questions

Which jurisdictions fund MenB beyond the NIP groups?

Queensland (infants and ages 15 to <20), South Australia (infants and Year 10), the Northern Territory (infants and Year 9, with catch-up to end 2026) and Tasmania (infants, from 1 July 2026). Victoria's Year 10 program is announced for 1 January 2027. NSW, WA and the ACT fund MenB only through the NIP.

Do state-funded nirsevimab programs require a Medicare number?

No. NCIRS notes that eligibility for state and territory-funded nirsevimab does not require a Medicare number and that the dose can be lodged on the AIR without one.

Where are the detailed criteria?

Queensland and NSW criteria are on our full GP references. For the other jurisdictions, use the official links in the table; the Australian Immunisation Handbook sets the clinical criteria most programs follow.
