Questions

Which states give free MenB vaccine?

Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and, from 1 July 2026, Tasmania fund MenB for infants, and several also fund it for teenagers. Victoria has announced a Year 10 program starting 1 January 2027. NSW, WA and the ACT fund it only through the national program, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and people with certain medical conditions.

Is the infant RSV antibody free everywhere?

Every state and territory ran a nirsevimab program in 2026, but the dates and criteria differ. NSW, Queensland, the ACT and the NT run year-round; Victoria, WA and SA ran seasonally to 30 September and Tasmania runs to 31 October. Eligibility for state-funded nirsevimab does not require a Medicare number.

I live near a state border. Which state's rules apply?

State-funded programs are for residents of that state. Ask your immunisation provider which program you qualify for.

How up to date is this?

Details were checked on 4 October 2026. Some programs have fixed end dates, and Victoria's starts in 2027, so check the official page for your state before you book.
