No. Queensland Health recommends it from birth to under 8 months when the infant is not protected by Abrysvo from birth (not given in pregnancy, delivered within 14 days of vaccination, or status unknown), when the infant has a condition raising the risk of severe RSV, or when antibody protection may be suboptimal. It is offered year-round and does not depend on Medicare status.
Queensland residents: infants 6 weeks to under 12 months; catch-up for children 12 months to under 2 years who have not started or finished a Bexsero course; and adolescents 15 to under 20 years. Once a course starts within the eligibility period, the second dose remains funded regardless of age. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children under 2 and people with specified medical risk factors remain eligible through the NIP.
All adolescents and adults born during or after 1966 who have not received 2 doses of a measles-containing vaccine, and travellers aged 6 to 12 months going to countries where measles is endemic or outbreaks are occurring. Infants vaccinated before 12 months need the routine dose at 12 months or 4 weeks after the first dose, whichever is later.
