What Item 705 is used for

A long comprehensive health assessment, 45 to 60 minutes of face-to-face time.

From 1 November 2026 (subject to legislation — confirm on MBS Online) these time-tiered items are also used for the Medicare Healthy Kids Check: a once-per-child, lifetime health assessment for Medicare-eligible 3-year-olds, with no change to descriptors, fees or co-claiming restrictions. The prescribed medical practitioner equivalent is item 226.
