The Nutrient Reference Values are the official Australian dietary guidelines, set by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) with the New Zealand Ministry of Health.

They include the Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) — the daily amount enough for nearly all (97–98%) healthy people in an age and sex group — the Adequate Intake (AI) where an RDI cannot be set, and the Upper Level (UL) you should not regularly exceed.

These are general population guides. Your GP or an Accredited Practising Dietitian can advise on your individual needs, especially in pregnancy, with medical conditions, or if you take supplements.
