In plain language: AskMyGP is a free general guide built by a GP. We have done our best to cite correctly sourced information, however there may be errors. Please always check the official guidelines, your treating doctor, or local laws before relying on anything here. You use the site at your own risk.

1. About these terms

AskMyGP (askmygp.com.au) is operated by Digital Treasure Pty Ltd (ABN 23 696 816 636 · ACN 696 816 636), trading as AskMyGP, registered in Queensland, Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using this website, you accept these Terms of Use and our Medical Disclaimer and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Information only — not advice

AskMyGP provides general health information, calculators, and educational tools. It is a general guide — it is not an official or authoritative source, and nothing on this site is medical, clinical, legal, financial, or billing advice.

The information does not take into account your individual circumstances. Always seek advice from a qualified professional — your treating doctor for health matters, and the official source (such as Services Australia or MBS Online) for billing and entitlement matters — before acting on anything you read here.

3. Accuracy & your responsibility to verify

We have done our best to compile information from cited, reputable Australian sources, and to show the source and date on each page. However, information may contain errors or omissions, may be simplified, and may become out of date as guidelines, fees, and laws change.

You are responsible for verifying any information before you rely on it. This is especially important for fees, MBS/PBS item numbers, eligibility rules, clinical thresholds, and anything used in billing or clinical decisions — these must be confirmed against the current primary source.

4. For health professionals

Tools in the clinicians section (such as billing references, scoring tools, and document generators) are decision aids that support workflow. They do not replace clinical judgement, and they are not a substitute for the current MBS Book, PBS Schedule, or other primary sources.

The treating practitioner remains solely responsible for all clinical decisions and for the accuracy and compliance of their own Medicare billing. We accept no liability for billing decisions, rejected claims, compliance action, or any loss arising from reliance on this site.

5. No warranty

The website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, suitability, or availability of the website or any information, calculator, or tool on it.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (including the Australian Consumer Law) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a guarantee or right cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digital Treasure Pty Ltd and its directors, officers, and contributors will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or injury (including indirect or consequential loss) arising from or connected with your use of, or reliance on, this website or any information, tool, calculator, or resource on it.

You use this website and its tools entirely at your own risk.

7. External links

This site links to external websites for convenience (for example, government health services and professional colleges). We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. A link does not imply endorsement.

8. Intellectual property & acceptable use

The design, text, and original tools on AskMyGP are owned by Digital Treasure Pty Ltd, except for third-party material reproduced under licence or with attribution to its source. You may use the site for your own personal or professional reference. You must not misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or scrape or republish its content at scale without permission.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is the one published on this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.

11. Contact & corrections
