What is a normal haemoglobin level?

Normal haemoglobin is 130–180 g/L for adult males and 115–165 g/L for adult females. Levels below these ranges indicate anaemia. In pregnancy, haemoglobin is physiologically lower — levels above 110 g/L in the first trimester and above 105 g/L in the second and third trimesters are generally considered acceptable.

What is a normal eGFR?

A normal eGFR is above 90 mL/min/1.73m². eGFR 60-89 is mildly reduced, 30-59 is moderately reduced (CKD stage 3), 15-29 is severely reduced (CKD stage 4), and below 15 is kidney failure (CKD stage 5). A single low result should be confirmed with a repeat test at least 3 months later before diagnosing CKD.
