Installation
WordPress / Wix / Squarespace

Use a "Custom HTML" or "Embed" block. Paste the code above directly into that block. The widget will render immediately after saving.

WordPress (Gutenberg): Add a "Custom HTML" block → paste code → save.

Wix: Add an "Embed HTML" element → paste code → publish.

Auto-resize iframe height

The widget sends its content height to the parent frame via postMessage. Add this small script anywhere on your page to auto-resize the iframe as content expands:

Configuration reference — all URL parameters
  • clinic — Clinic name (max 80 chars, HTML escaped)
  • policy — full, concession, kids, or mixed
  • book — Booking URL (must start with https://)
  • phone — Phone number (digits, spaces, + only)
  • accent — Accent colour as hex without #, e.g. 3b82f6
  • theme — light (default) or dark

All parameters are optional. Missing parameters use safe defaults.

Terms of use

The widget is free to embed on any Australian clinic website. Requirements:

  • The "Powered by AskMyGP" attribution must remain visible and clickable.
  • The information displayed must accurately reflect your practice's actual billing policy.
  • AskMyGP may update the widget's design and information without notice — updates apply automatically to all embeds.
  • The widget is provided as-is. AskMyGP is not responsible for any consequences of practice policy changes not being reflected in the embed configuration.

Common questions
Does the widget bring new patients to my clinic?

Honestly, no. The widget only serves people already on your website. What it does:

  • Cuts reception phone calls about billing ("Do you bulk bill?", "How do I claim my rebate?")
  • Makes your practice look transparent and professional
  • Nudges patients toward MyMedicare registration — which supports your future funding position under the General Practice in Aged Care Incentive and related programs

If traffic acquisition is your goal, the widget is not the tool. If reducing admin friction and clarifying billing is your goal, it works well.

What's the difference between Tier 2 and Tier 3?

Tier 2 is for individual clinics that want a good embed on their own website plus a say in the roadmap. Free during launch.

Tier 3 is for platforms that deploy across many clinic sites — recruitment agencies, corporate GP groups, health tech companies. It includes attribution removal and bulk configuration. Priced per platform.

Most individual clinics only need Tier 1 or Tier 2. Tier 3 is designed for the platform partner use case.

Why give partnership away free?

Because the AskMyGP tools themselves are free. Because trust matters more than money at this stage. Because we'd rather have real Australian clinics using the widget honestly than one paying partner and nine competitors racing to charge more.

This may change as adoption grows. If it does, existing partners are grandfathered for at least 12 months.

Can I use the widget if I'm not in Australia?

The widget is designed around Medicare, MyMedicare, DVA, MBS item numbers, and Australian billing conventions. Using it outside Australia will confuse your patients. We may build country-specific variants in future — email us if this is relevant to you.
