Four new phone chronic condition items

92033 and 92034 (GP, $160.60) and 92063 and 92064 (prescribed medical practitioner, $128.55) to prepare or review a GP chronic condition management plan by phone. They follow the video-item rules: a chronic condition, not in residential aged care, and the patient’s MyMedicare practice (or usual doctor).

ABPM expanded to children and adolescents

Item 11607 now also covers ages 5 to under 18, using percentile-based thresholds. Fee unchanged at $123.20.

Participating nurse practitioners will be able to refer patients for bone mineral densitometry (items 12306 to 12322).

Terminology and classifications

“Residential aged care facility” becomes “residential care home” in item wording, to match the Aged Care Act 2024. Modified Monash (MM) location categories are aligned with the 2023 classification, so check your practice’s category.

Four new phone attendance items from 1 November 2026 to prepare or review a GP chronic condition management plan: 92033 and 92034 for GPs ($160.60) and 92063 and 92064 for prescribed medical practitioners ($128.55). They are added to the same rules as the video items: the patient must have a chronic condition and not be in residential aged care, MyMedicare-enrolled patients must be seen at their enrolled practice, and the video-item timing and same-day rules apply.

Does ABPM item 11607 cover children from 1 November 2026?

Yes. It is expanded to include patients aged 5 years to under 18 years, using clinic blood pressure thresholds based on percentiles for age, sex and height.
