How AskMyGP stays current

This site is built and maintained by a practising Australian GP. Every page names its sources. This page is the live record of what's verified, what's pending, and how the whole thing works.

How we verify content
👨‍⚕️
A practising GP writes and reviews every page. Not an SEO writer, not a content agency. A GP who uses these tools in clinic and knows when something doesn't match real practice. AHPRA-registered, working in Australian general practice.
📚
Every clinical claim cites its source. MBS fees are verified against the MBS Schedule. PBS prices against the PBS Schedule. Vaccination eligibility against the National Immunisation Program. Clinical guidance against RACGP, ASCIA, eTG, or the relevant Australian guideline. We name the source, not just the claim.
🔧
Automated checks catch drift. A build-check system scans every page before deployment — MBS fees are lint-checked against a verified fee table (73 item references across 505+ pages), ceased MBS items are flagged, external links are catalogued, and pages older than 180 days trigger staleness warnings. Nothing ships without passing all guards.
🚫
No medical advice, ever. This site informs — it does not advise, diagnose, or recommend treatment. Every page tells you to talk to your GP. That's not a legal disclaimer; it's a design principle.
Content tiers
Tier 1
Verified from project knowledge — MBS Book, PBS Schedule, RACGP Red Book, NIP Schedule. Standard citation. GP review not required for each deployment.
Tier 2
Clinical thresholds or state-specific data — severity grading, eligibility criteria, external statistics. Amber banner on page. GP reviews before go-live.
Sourced
Source citations present — the page names its references but hasn't had a dedicated re-verification pass yet. Most content on the site sits here.
